Cubs call up Fulmer before series with Cardinals

The first-place Chicago Cubs selected the contract of veteran right-hander Michael Fulmer, 32, from Triple-A Iowa and optioned right-hander Nate Pearson to Iowa on Monday ahead of a four-game series against the rival St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
